The 30th Anniversary Edition of Hardware Wars has just been
released. This is the original version, not the special edition that was
released a few years back. It's "Newly Restored with Wires and
Strings". To get it, go on over to TheGrindHouse.net
or to amazon.com. You can also pick up
a copy at your local comic shop (available through Haven
Distribution).
Back in 1978, when disco ruled the planet, Ernie Fosselius created what would become one of the greatest parodies ever made. Using a
Star Wars/household appliance theme, this spoof consists of approximately 12 minutes of pure hilarity. The characters are none
other than Fluke Starbucker, Ham Salad, Princess Ann-Droid, Augie Ben Doggie, 4Q-2 and Artie Deco, and Darf Nader
(naughty person). Michael Wiese produced the film and now has a company appropriately titled Michael Wiese Productions.
Recently he has produced a Hardware Wars Special Edition
with added effects. The main reason I added this to the ST321 Star Wars Homepage is because I haven't seen many pages
dedicated to the infamous Hardware Wars and thought it might be fun.
I recorded the following sounds using an adapter from my VCR to my computer. The quality isn't great, but they came
out pretty well considering the age of the film. I also owe Davin Felth a great deal of thanks for providing the images you see below.
So sit back, place your mind to the era, and let the Farce guide your mouse (sounds kinda kinky huh?).
